The MAS, locally known as “Can Ponç” dates back to 1890 and was then a cattle farm. Later, as time passed and families split, the MAS was divided into two: Can Maret and Mas Martorell, both names referring to the owners.
Since then and up to 2002, four families have lived in Mas Martorell working on the land and breeding cattle. The last owner made major transformations to the house very much according to his own taste.
Since 2006 a Belgian family has taken over, trying to renovate the domain back to its Catalan splendour.
We are working on the hacienda as a whole doing research on its Catalan origins and wanting to give it back its official name. From now on, Mas Martorell will be known as a rustic guesthouse on a 1.5ha domain where you will spend an unforgettable holiday!
